In 2021, Auteco plans to sell 70,000 units of the TVS brand, with which it aims to have an 11% market share.

TVS Company Motor is a globally recognized brand, and has one of the 10 largest factories in the world, with 600 patents, awarded the Deming award for quality excellence, exports to 60 countries and has 33 million users in the world.

Carlos Durán, president of Auteco SAS, indicated that “with the assembly of this first motorcycle, the Sport 100 began the strategic alliance that we made with TVS. The Sport 100 ELS is an ideal work vehicle for the Colombian market. With this brand we will also make a foray into semi-automatic and automatic motorcycles, motorcycles and electric motorcycles, to offer a broader portfolio of mobility solutions in the country ”.

The launch of this first model is in response to the behavior of the motorcycle market during the pandemic, as individual vehicles took center stage to maintain social distance and as a work tool.

In this sense, in the last quarter of the year, more than 50,000 motorcycles were sold per month in the sector, which has made it possible to offset in some way the two months without sales at the beginning of the confinement.

The production of the TVS models is done at the Cartagena plant and they are one of the most modern facilities in Latin America, it was built six years ago and has an area of 30,000 m2, but 13,500 square meters are dedicated to the TVS plant, which complies with biosafety standards with workstations with two meters apart, among others.

With the new brand, 29 additional jobs have been added to those that the plant normally had and it is expected, next March, to reach 240 workers.
Carlos Duran points out that today in the country 14% of jobs in Colombia have a motorcycle.

This means of transport became a job opportunity for the common people and it is already perceived how the market began to react.
