Gearbox Software will be releasing the krakens in Borderlands 3. Ahem, we mean the big guns and the big bosses. With the True Trials weekly event, players will get a newer, stronger version of the boss in Proving Grounds every Thursday. Of course, there will be rewards, but that’s if you do manage to beat the boss.

Borderlands 3 Proving Grounds Bosses get big buffs

Face off against amped-up Proving Grounds bosses during weekly True Trial Mini-events! Plus, the Cartels return June 24, not for revenge, but for REVENGENCE! ?

Borderlands 3‘s True Trial mini-event will replace one of the trails in the Proving Grounds with a much more menacing, stronger boss fight. Defeating the boss will get you one of two Legendary Weapons. One of the two will always come from the base game. Meanwhile, the other will come from one of Borderlands 3‘s DLC. But to be able to use the latter, you’ll also have to own the corresponding DLC.
Borderlands 3‘s True Trial mini-event will start off with what’s called the Trial of Survival. You can find it at Devil’s Razor, and will reward you with The Lob or the Lucky 7 pistol. The trial changes every Thursday, 12 PM EST. Make sure to clear the Trial within the week before you miss it when the Trial rotates out.
The True Trial mini-event will continue for six weeks, with the last Trial expiring on July 1. Meanwhile, the True Trials Mini-Event will culminate with the return of a seasonal event. In true Borderlands fashion, the seasonal event will have a ridiculous name: The Revengeance of Revenge of the Cartels. The Revengeance of Revenge of the Cartels starts June 24.
Meanwhile, Gearbox has previously teased the existence of Borderlands 4. While no official announcement has been made yet, Gearbox teased that the team’s working on ‘the big one’ next.
