Why the long face, Eddie? (Picture: @SuffolkFire)This horse did not walk into a bar but it most definitely has a long face.
Poor Eddie the 28-year-old black and white horse needed saving after becoming wedged between some trees in Sudbury, Suffolk.
It’s not entirely clear how the big fella got stuck in the thicket but it required a team of firefighters to rescue him.
Eddie was sedated as they cut away branches to finally free the old horse and return him to his paddock.
‘The horse is safely back on all fours and the vet is staying with the animal until the full effects of the sedation have worn off,’ a fire service spokesman told the East Anglian Daily Times.
Eddie’s owner Caroline Phillips said his ‘antics are getting worse in his old age’ but he is thankfully ‘a calm old boy’.
Thanking the crews on Facebook, she wrote: ‘We all love him dearly even though more grey hairs have appeared after today.’
