It looks like Brooklyn Nets star Kevin Durant is having another series battle aside from the one against the Milwaukee Bucks.

Durant essentially called ESPN analyst Jay Williams a “f***** liar” after his revelation that KD allegedly once told him to stop comparing him to Giannis Antetokounmpo. Well, Williams has responded (via New York Post).
“I stand by my story.”
Williams admitted he shouldn’t have released the story but he has also accepted the blowback, choosing to remain positive instead.
“I was probably wrong for sharing a personal story, but that’s what we do, we share personal stories. But (Tuesday) I sat there, I’m not going back and forth on social media. I was with my family all day staying positive, it’s all good. It was meant as a compliment, there are levels to this.”
Williams said the apparent conversation he had with Durant happened a few years back during a party for Durant’s business. Now that the Nets are rolling against the Bucks, Williams probably felt it was good fodder for the discussions about KD and Giannis, especially since they’re matched up against each other.
The former Duke standout, however, perhaps didn’t expect Kevin Durant would deny the story. But despite this, Jay Williams noted that he’s rooting for the Nets to win the championship.
“It’s unfortunate that KD felt that way at that moment, but I wish KD nothing but love and all the best success. I hope (the Nets) win the championship. We talk about them every single day. Shoot, the other day I was talking about him being the best player in the world. So, that’s alI I gotta say about that. We’re moving on.”
All’s well that ends well?
