Brenda Edwards called into question the hypocrisy of the Government on today’s Loose Women as the panel discussed the looming lockdown delay.
It’s expected that Boris Johnson will announce tonight that the road map easing earmarked for June 21 will be delayed for four weeks to July 19.
The announcement means that limits on numbers for sports events, pubs and cinemas are likely to remain in place, nightclubs will stay closed and people will be encouraged to keep up social distancing and working from home.
Brenda hit out at the news on today’s show and criticised a recent G7 summit barbecue, which Downing Street denied was in breach of Covid restrictions.
‘I’m here thinking this have a little patience nonsense,’ Brenda began. ‘There’s no love lost for Boris because they’re jetting off on their private jets where they want to have their private meetings, yet they’re telling us, the real people, have a Zoom meeting.
‘Why can’t you have your Zoom meeting? It seems to be one rule for them and one rule for everybody else.

Brenda’s comments came after world leaders were seen getting chummy in the Cornwall sunshine on Saturday night, the penultimate evening of the event.
Mr Johnson could be seen eating and drinking with leaders including US President Joe Biden, French President Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Angela Merkel.
But the PM’s official spokesperson was forced to deny the gang decided to ignore social-distancing measures for the evening.
Pictures from the party appeared to show a large group standing close together without masks – scenes which might raise a few eyebrows among those concerned about rising case rates.
Under the current restrictions, no more than 30 people are allowed to gather at an outside event, while indoor events are limited to two households or six people.
The Downing Street spokesperson said only 30 were allowed into the barbecue area.
They said: ‘The event last night was done in an entirely Covid secure way and within the existing rules.

‘I’ve set out before the very stringent approach we’ve been taking to ensure we are Covid secure at the summit, including daily testing.’
Loose Women airs weekdays at 12.30pm on ITV.
