I don\u2019t know what\u2019s happening, I think we need to, first of all, protect each other on the floor, because we are eating the same bread\u2026We can play hard and compete but I think we can play kind of safer,\u201d Jokic said after putting up 24 points, 12 assists, and eight rebounds in the game.
\nWhile teammates, of course, are expected to have each other\u2019s backs, the same cannot be said for opposing teams in the heat of the spirit of competition. Some games can be overly and unnecessarily physical, which could lead to a lot of injuries.
\nAside from players already missing significant time due to COVID-19 health and safety protocols, there has been an alarming number of career-threatening injuries as of late. Nikola Jokic and the Nuggets have had their fair share of those, with Jamal Murray going town to an ACL tear. This was soon followed by Will Barton\u2019s scary hamstring injury.
\nThe condensed schedule is seen as the primary culprit behind it all since more games meant fewer times for players to rest and recover. While the odds are definitely not in their favor at the moment, Jokic believes a little cooperation between the players can come a long way in preventing these injuries.<\/p>\n[ad_2]\n
