Eurovision this year was filled with a variety of showstopping performances (Picture: Getty\/Rex & AP)Eurovision 2021 has proven to be dramatic, intense and entertaining, with a variety of showstopping performances taking place on the stage in Rotterdam.
\nAfter last year\u2019s competition was cancelled due to the pandemic, this year every country that was in the final came back with a bang.
\nEven though Italy were the winners with the rock band M\u00e5neskin\u00a0performing the song Zitti E Buoni, there were a variety of other impressive acts.
\nHere is a roundup of all of the stellar performances in the order they appeared.<\/p>\n
Cyprus: Elena Tsagrinou \u2013 El Diablo
\nAthenian singer Elena Tsagrinou represented Cyprus at this year\u2019s\u00a0Eurovision Song Contest\u00a0with her high energy song El Diablo. <\/p>\n
Albania: Anxhela Peristeri \u2013 Karma
\nAfter winning Festivali i K\u00ebng\u00ebs 59, Anxhela Peristeri represented Albania at the Grand Final with the song Karma<\/p>\n
Israel: Eden Alene \u2013 Set Me Free
\nEden Alene represented Israel with the song Set Me Free, with Eden singing the highest note that has ever been sung in the history of the competition.
\nFollowing her performance, host Graham Norton joked she had left him with a \u2018nose bleed\u2019.<\/p>\n
Belgium: Hooverphonic \u2013 The Wrong Place
\nFollowing an agreement between Belgium\u2019s two Eurovision broadcasters VRT and RTBF,\u00a0Hooverphonic\u00a0returned\u00a0as the Belgian act this year.
\nAlong with returning vocalist\u00a0Geike Arnaert,\u00a0the group performed their song\u00a0The Wrong Place.<\/p>\n
Russia: Manizha \u2013 Russian Woman
\nFor the first time since 2012, the Russian public chose the country\u2019s entry, with\u00a0Manizha\u00a0winning with the song\u00a0Russkaya zhenshchina (Russian Woman). Manizha calls her song a manifesto against prejudice and for more women\u2019s rights.<\/p>\n
Malta: Destiny \u2013 Je Me Casse
\nDestiny represented Malta at the Grand Final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2021 with the song Je Me Casse. Destiny was originally headed for Eurovision 2020 after winning\u00a0X Factor Malta.<\/p>\n
Portugal: The Black Mamba \u2013 Love Is On My Side
\nWith their English-language song Love Is on My Side, the Portuguese group The Black Mamba represented Portugal. From a field of ten grand finalists, the Black Mamba won Festival da Can\u00e7o 2021.<\/p>\n
Serbia: Hurricane \u2013 Loco Loco
\nHurricane represented Serbia at the Grand Final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2021 with the song Loco Loco.
\nAt the time of writing, their video on the Eurovision YouTube account have 175k views, which is miles ahead of the others.<\/p>\n
United Kingdom: James Newman \u2013 Embers
\nThe BBC internally selected the singer-songwriter\u00a0James Newman\u00a0who was also due to represent the UK in 2020. His song, which he co-wrote, was\u00a0his new dance-pop song Embers.
\nJames\u00a0is the younger brother of singer\u00a0John Newman.<\/p>\n
Greece: Stefania \u2013 Last Dance
\nStefania represented Greece with the song Last Dance. In 2013 she was a contestant in the third season of\u00a0The Voice Kids\u00a0in the Netherlands.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Switzerland: Gjon\u2019s Tears \u2013 Tout l\u2019Univers
\nGjon Muharremaj \u2013 who performs as\u00a0Gjon\u2019s Tears\u00a0\u2013 performed with the internally selected song\u00a0Tout l\u2019univers.<\/p>\n
Iceland: Da\u2202i Freyr og Gagnamagni\u2202 \u2013 10 Years
\nLast year Iceland\u2019s entry Think About Things from Da\u00f0i Freyr and his backing band Gagnamagni\u00f0 went viral. This year they entered with their track 10 Years, which is about Da\u00f0i\u2019s relationship with wife \u00c1rn\u00fd (who was be pregnant with their second child on the Eurovision stage).<\/p>\n
Spain: Blas Cant\u00f3 \u2013 Voy A Querdarme
\nBlas Cant\u00f3 was invited back to represent Spain and performed the ballad Voy a Quedarme, which he won in a two-song national final called Destino Eurovision.<\/p>\n
Moldova: Natalia Gordienko \u2013 SUGAR
\nNatalia Gordienko represented Moldova at the Grand Final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2021 with the song SUGAR.<\/p>\n
Germany: Jendrik \u2013 I Don\u2019t Feel Hate
\nThe German entry for the 2021 Eurovision Song Contest was Jendrick with his song I Don\u2019t Feel Hate.
\nThe upbeat track is a missive to haters, as the 26-year-old is telling them that their words will not stop him from living his life.<\/p>\n
Finland: Blind Channel \u2013 Dark Side
\nThe Finnish six-piece violent pop group\u00a0Blind Channel\u00a0won Finland\u2019s national final UMK 2021. They represented their country with the song Dark Side.<\/p>\n
Bulgaria: Victoria \u2013 Growing Up is Getting Old
\nBulgaria\u2019s 2020 act Victoria Georgieva \u2013 who performs as\u00a0VICTORIA\u00a0\u2013 returned for 2021 with her internally selected entry\u00a0Growing Up Is Getting Old.<\/p>\n
Lithuania: The Roop \u2013 Discoteque
\nLithuanian band\u00a0THE ROOP\u00a0represented their country with Discoteque\u00a0after they won the national final Pabandom i\u0161 Naujo! 2021.<\/p>\n
Ukraine: Go_A \u2013 Shum
\nElectro-folk group\u00a0Go_A\u00a0were internally selected after having previously won the 2020 national final. They performed the song\u00a0SHUM, which was\u00a0selected by an expert jury and revamped into a new version for Eurovision.<\/p>\n
France: Barbara Pravi \u2013 Voil\u00e0
\nJunior Eurovision 2020 songwriter\u00a0Barbara Pravi represented France with her song Voil\u00e0.\u00a0Barbara won the new French national final\u00a0Eurovision France, c\u2019est vous qui d\u00e9cidez\u00a0from a field of 12 acts.<\/p>\n
Azerbaijan: Efendi \u2013 Mata Hari
\nEfendi represented Azerbaijan at the Grand Final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2021 with the song Mata Hari.<\/p>\n
Norway: TIX \u2013 Fallen Angel
\nTIX represented Norway with the song Fallen Angel. The song is about TIX\u2019s struggle with depression, which is made even worse by being\u00a0rejected by a girl he had feelings for. TIX compares depression to \u2018fighting with demons inside a hole in my heart\u2019 in the song.<\/p>\n
The Netherlands: Jeangu Macrooy \u2013 Birth of a New Age
\nJeangu Macrooy represented the Netherlands with the song Birth Of A New Age. The Suriname singer had previously been internally selected to represent the Netherlands in 2020.<\/p>\n
Italy: M\u00e5neskin \u2013 Zitti E Buoni
\nItalian rock band\u00a0M\u00e5neskin\u00a0represented Italy\u00a0at Eurovision after\u00a0winning Sanremo 2021. They performed the song Zitti e buoni.<\/p>\n
Sweden: Tusse \u2013 Voices
\nTousin Michael Chiza, known as Tusse, is a Swedish singer with Congolese roots who booked his ticket to Eurovision when he won Melodifestivalen. He performed the catch song Voices.<\/p>\n
San Marino: Senhit \u2013 Adrenalina
\nTonight there was an unusual addition to San Marino\u2019s performance, and that was the well-known rapper Flo Rida. The rapper featured on Senhit\u2019s Eurovision 2021 entry Adrenalina.<\/p>\n
