Anthony Davis, LeBron James, and the rest of the Los Angeles Lakers just secured their spot in the playoffs following a momentous win over the Golden State Warriors in Wednesday\u2019s play-in battle. The defending champs are now set to face a tough test in the second-seeded Phoenix Suns in the first round, but as it turns out, AD isn\u2019t exactly sweating it.<\/p>\n

In a recent interview, Davis revealed his mindset entering the postseason as the Lakers embark on what should be a grueling title defense:
\n\u201cI have nothing to prove to anyone,\u201d said the Lakers star, via the Daily News. \u201cI don\u2019t think I have anything to prove to myself; only being another champion. That\u2019s really it. I want to be able to win multiple championships; this is another opportunity for me to do so.
\n\u201cFor our group, maybe you can add the challenge of being a seventh seed, but as far as trying to prove something to anyone else: I go out every day, compete, and let the chips fall where they may.\u201d
\nFair point from AD here. He\u2019s already reached the pinnacle of the sport with the Lakers, and at this point, he does have nothing more to prove.
\nDon\u2019t mistake this for a lack of motivation, though. Davis and the Lakers certainly have a lot more to play for and their journey to the top begins on Sunday when they take on the Suns in Game 1 of their first-round matchup. Davis may have nothing more to prove at this point, but we\u2019re certain that he\u2019ll be going all out for that second chip.
