In the words of the great early 2000s philosopher Vince Carter, IT IS OVER. That’s practically what Tennessee Titans wide receiver AJ Brown said on Twitter shortly after learning that his team’s front office pulled off one of the biggest trades in years. With the Titans which has the AFC South team landing future Hall of Famer wideout Julio Jones.

By all means, AJ, say whatever you want.

Indeed, this trade, once it completely goes through, will give the Titans arguably the best 1-2 punch downfield in the entire NFL. Not only that but Jones’ arrival in Tennessee could further open up things for the team’s already dominant rushing attack with running back Derrick Henry at the helm.

Brown led the Titans in the 2020 NFL season with 1,075 receiving yards to go with 11 touchdowns on 70 receptions and 106 targets across 14 games played. Next to him was Corey Davis, as the Titans’ second option in the passing game. Jones should easily be among Ryan Tannehill’s top two targets going forward, though whether Brown remains as the primary receiver could be up for debate until we see how he actually distributes his passes.

In any case, this is a huge win for the Titans, whose odds to win Super Bowl 56 would definitely get a significant bump. As of this writing, the Titans are priced at a consensus +2642 to lift the Vince Lombardi Trophy in 2022.
