\nThree taikonauts have entered China\u2019s space station for a three-month mission called Shenzhou-12, state-possessed broadcaster CGTN revealed Saturday. \nNie Haisheng, Liu Boming, and Tang Hongbo took off onboard the Chinese rocket Shenzhou-12 on Thursday. The rocket took them to the core module of the CSS, known as Tianhe, which China launched into space in April. The taikonauts entered the CSS under three hours after Shenzhou-12 docked, CGTN said. The threesome will unload their supplies, and set up internet connections and other equipment on the CSS, which is as yet a work in progress, CGTN detailed.<\/p>\n

During their three-month stay, the taikonauts will complete different experiments, including testing the Tianhe module\u2019s life-support capacities and check interchanges between the space station and mission controllers on Earth. They\u2019ll likewise lead spacewalks to test new spacesuits and robot arms. The 66-ton Tianhe module is significantly more modest than the International Space Station (ISS), which weighs 450 tons. The entire space station is comprised of the Tianhe and a stockpile transport Tianzhou-2.
\nJust three astronauts can fit in the Tianhe at one time. The objective is for China to send taikonauts to the CSS for half-year spells, Insider\u2019s Morgan McFall-Johnson revealed. Thursday\u2019s dispatch was the third of 11 arranged dispatches to wrap up building the CSS in 2022. The future eight missions will include dispatching two additional modules, three more load shipments, and three more astronaut groups. China has hailed the mission as a successful one.
