Ackley Bridge star Sunetra Sarker has urged fans of the show to give the new characters a chance as the series returns.
A brand new series means a brand new school term, and with it a whole host of iconic new characters.
The actor, who plays Kaneez Paracha on the Channel 4 drama, teased that viewers can expect great things from some of the new faces.
Appearing on Monday’s episode of Loose Women, Sunetra – also serving assistant producer on the show for the first time – shared: ‘As the school years end and the girls grow up…I couldn’t believe we had to readdress the school age groups and start a new year.

The new kids on the block (Picture: Channel 4)‘This series we’ve got a whole batch of new faces people have to get used to. It’s been hard for the new kids because they had to join a show that’s got a following and that people love.
‘We’ve got some really great kids. These new ones will wow you all.’
Some of the new young stars include best mates Kayla (Robyn Cara), who is funny and bighearted, and the ‘outspoken’ Fizza (Yasmin Al Khudhairi)
There’s also school heartthrob Johnny (Ryan Dean) who is set to ruffle a few feathers with his cocky attitude.

Upcoming scenes will see him get the attention of both Kayla and Fizza, but it’s clear he is not a fan of his new school.
The last series saw Jo Joyner exit as headteacher Mandy after four series in the role.
The fourth series will boast an entirely new format, with 10 episodes running at 30 minutes each, which will be aired across two weeks, in a much earlier teatime slot.
Ackley Bridge returns tonight at 6pm on Channel 4
