A man and woman on an e-scooter were seriously hurt in a crash in Wolverhampton (SnapperSK)Two people riding on an e-scooter together have been hit by a car in Wolverhampton.
Police are investigating after a man, 20, was critically injured and a 19-year-old woman was seriously injured.
A woman driving a black VW Golf hit the pair on Prestwood Road on Saturday afternoon.
The vehicle’s windscreen could be seen caved in from the impact with the riders.
Both riders remain in hospital.
West Midlands Police said in a statement: ‘We’re appealing for witnesses after a man riding an e-scooter was critically injured in a collision with a car in Wolverhampton.
‘We were called by paramedics to Prestwood Road at 3.25pm yesterday (Saturday), where it’s believed the vehicle collided with a VW Golf.
‘The 20-year-old man riding the e-scooter was taken to hospital to be treated for a serious head injury, while a woman, aged 19, believed to have been a passenger on the e-scooter was also seriously injured.
‘The woman driving the VW Golf was not hurt.
‘Officers are carrying out CCTV and house-to-house enquires, and are appealing for anyone who saw what happened or who has dashcam or other footage, to get in touch via live chat or 101.’
