Bosses are hopeful the scenes could be filmed with the Coronavirus restrictions easing (Pictures: ITV)Coronation Street and Emmerdale are planning an explosive blockbuster week amid the relaxation of the Coronavirus rules.
In the past, viewers have watched a boat blow up in the Dales, a fireball in Weatherfield, the huge week is one fans always enjoy but because of the pandemic, plans have obviously changed multiple times since last year.
Right now, filming restrictions are in place to ensure cast and crew are kept safe. For months, we’ve seen characters on our screens film two metres away from each other and soaps have also been limited to the amount of people that can be on set at one time.
Corrie and Emmerdale bosses are hopeful that with the easing of restrictions, huge stunts and explosive (literally) episodes can make their return.
A source told The Sun: ‘The hope is that things will carry on as they are, and we’ll be able to push the boat out and have something much bigger this year.
The idea is that as well as the story we can have the big set pieces back that have been too challenging to pull off so far.’
‘It should be a real treat for fans and packed with action and drama.’
As the Euros continue and schedules change multiple times, fans are currently being treated to the luxury of watching a week’s worth of Coronation Street, Emmerdale and EastEnders in the form of a boxset, uploaded every Monday on ITV Hub and BBC iPlayer.
