Chris Boucher had a different fire on Sunday night as he put not just his Toronto Raptors on his back, but the entire city of Montreal.
It was a special night for the city as three of Montreal’s homegrown players, Boucher and teammate Khem Birch and Oklahoma City Thunder’s Luguentz Dort, took center stage. In the end, it was Boucher who snagged the spotlight as he erupted for a career-high 31 points built on six three-pointers.
After the game, Boucher was hyped for representing Montreal in their 112-106 win (via Josh Lewenberg of TSN Sports).
“I really wanted to put Montreal on the map a little bit, just make people realize that we have talent in Montreal. You’re only seeing three guys but I know a lot of guys from Montreal that are really talented that just don’t get the chance. That’s what was exciting for me.”

Birch also held his own in his third straight start for the Raptors. Like Boucher, he was more than happy and proud to play for his city, together with two of Montreal’s finest. He contributed seven points, six rebounds, three assists, a steal, and a block in 29 solid minutes.
Khem Birch: “This was historic, something I can tell my kids about in the future. And hopefully there will be more (of these nights) in the future, but right now it’s a historic night.”

On the other side of the fence, Dort absolutely balled out for the Thunder and scored 29 points. The 22-year-old forward didn’t even miss in the opening quarter and has been on a roll in these last few games after returning from a shoulder injury.

Chris Boucher, Khem Birch, and Luguentz Dort are just some of the slew of NBA stars that have risen from Canada recently, including Andrew Wiggins, RJ Barrett, Jamal Murray, and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander just to name a few.
