The Green Bay Packers have no intention to trade away quarterback Aaron Rodgers, general manager Brian Gutekunst revealed as the 1st round of the NFL draft concluded on Thursday. This, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.

Furthermore, Brian Gutekunst clarified a number of things regarding the Rodgers situation, via Rob Demovsky of ESPN. This debunks previous reports that claimed that multiple teams, including the San Francisco 49ers, have reached out to Green Bay for a potential deal for the 37-year old.

Packers GM Brian Gutekunst tried to clear up a few things:
* They never told Rodgers that they would trade him. “Absolutely false.*
* He never talked to 49ers GM John Lynch.
* He said he got one call inquiring about a trade for Rodgers after today’s news broke. pic.twitter.com/DKu5HF24rY

Reports surfaced on the day of the NFL Draft about the reigning NFL MVP being unhappy in Green Bay to the point that he already demanded a trade from the Packers. In fact, Rodgers has also reportedly given the Packers a list of teams he wants to go to, which includes the 49ers, the Denver Broncos, and the Las Vegas Raiders.
San Francisco is probably no longer interested in trading for the 37-year old, considering they just drafted their franchise quarterback of the future in Trey Lance. Meanwhile, the Broncos are reportedly looking to deal quarterback Drew Lock.
Rodgers and the Packers have reportedly been trying to negotiate and come to terms on a long-term deal for quite a while now. However, they have yet to agree on a deal and Rodgers isn’t happy with the way things are going.
This obviously isn’t an ideal situation that Green Bay would like to have when they enter the 2021 campaign. It’s always a bad sign when your franchise star is disgruntled, and more often than not, things will get more sour eventually.
