In spite of the fact that Trae Young and the Atlanta Hawks are having the best season this team has had in a long time, the naysayers still continue to rage on. At this point, it isn’t surprising that Young already knows how to deal with all the hate. As it turns out, the Hawks star has learned this particular facet of the game from none other than the late, great Kobe Bryant.
Young recently took to Twitter to channel some Mamba Mentality amid the slew of criticism he has continued to receive throughout the campaign:

Young is taking out a page from the book of one of the greats here. Throughout his career, Bryant had more than his fair share of haters and for the Los Angeles Lakers legend, he actually lived off the criticism. Kobe used it as fuel to motivate himself knowing full well that “haters are a good problem to have.”
As for Young, he’s had a bit of an up-and-down campaign this year. Right now, the Hawks are in the midst of a three-game losing skid, which has prompted a bit of criticism aimed at Young himself. Nonetheless, Atlanta is virtually guaranteed of a playoff spot this season which is going to be their first appearance in four long years.
Young has been outstanding for the most part of the season as he’s led the Hawks to new heights in what could turn out to be a historic season for Atlanta. As Kobe said, the naysayers “hate the great ones” so in this respect, it does seem that all the hate on Trae Young is warranted.
