Jokes aside, of course LeBron James’ injury update is more important but Dudley himself has become pretty significant for the Lakers especially inside the locker room.

Dudley is a 16-year veteran who continues to be the glue guy in the Lakers locker room. He’s often described as the best friend of the media as he’s one of the most fun players to interview. Sadly, Laker fans didn’t get to see much of Dudley this season because he suffered an MCL tear in February.

The Lakers, who have been dominated by injuries this season, will benefit from Dudley’s return no less. He’s not necessarily a 10 or 15 points per night kind of guy but he still brings grit and effort whenever his number is called. When a veteran like Dudley does that, it transitions to the whole team. The Lakers badly need to grit out and win their next few games in order to avoid the play-in tournament.
The defending champions are still considered one of the favorites to win this year’s title even with their current record. A lot are confident that the Lakers can still make a deep playoff push once James returns, which reportedly will be next week. The Lakers have a tough schedule ahead as they go up against the Los Angeles Clippers on Thursday followed by an important date against the Portland Trail Blazers on Friday.
