The Belgian ensured the Foxes won the competition for the first time in their history with a sensational long-range hit against the Blues in the second half at Wembley.
Chelsea dominated in north-west London but failed to find a breakthrough, with Mason Mount and Cesar Azpilicueta squandering good chances to score.
Tielemans’ goal was controversial as Chelsea players complained that Ayoze Perez had handled in the build-up and their anger was exacerbated in injury time as Ben Chilwell’s effort was ruled out by VAR for offside.
Tuchel said Tielemans’ goal was ‘lucky’ (Picture: YouTube)‘I think we had a big [chance] one with Azp in the first half where we have deflection from our own player,’ said Tuchel.‘It’s maybe our biggest chance in the whole game and very early on that could have given us a comfortable lead to increase our confidence. ‘We were too hectic. We found spaces in front of their defence, we had accelerations but we were too hectic and gave too many balls away where we could have created chances.
‘In the second half we were in total control but we concede a goal out of absolutely nothing. I mean it’s a fantastic goal but it’s a lucky goal. It’s one in 100.
‘After that [Leicester] were deep, deep, deep and had control in their half. We create a big chance with Mason [Mount] but it’s a big save from Schmeichel and then the offside goal.
‘We defended very, very well. They are super strong in the counter attack but we close down Vardy, we close down Iheanacho.
‘There’s nothing much to complain about but you need a bit of luck. If you win consistently you need quality and you deserve it but you need these moments to go in your direction.’
