former Bears coach says he left because of Aaron Rodgers

Facing Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers has long been a disaster for many coaches. He’s widely regarded as one of the best to ever do it and he’s coming off another incredible season in which he won the MVP award.

Currently, there is quite the fiasco unraveling in Green Bay between Rodgers and the Packers front office. It has left many wondering if Rodgers will ever play in the green and gold again. One former Chicago Bears coach weighed in on the topic on Tuesday.
Via the Pat McAfee Show, former Bears defensive coordinator Chuck Pagano said this about the Packers – Rodgers dilemma.

“I wouldn’t have retired if I’d known he was going to do this by the way” ???
How would Chuck Pagano handle the Aaron Rodgers situation if he was Matt LaFleur?

Pagano was the Bears defensive coordinator in 2019-20 before stepping aside. He faced the Packers twice in that stretch and noted he wouldn’t have retired from Chicago if he knew Rodgers was going to do this (jokingly).
The show lost it when Pagano said he, “got the hell out of Chicago because I was sick of seeing that dude.”
When asked what he would do if he were in Matt LaFleur’s shoes, Pagano said he’d die before he let Rodgers walk out of that building.
Rodgers had said recently on Kenny Mayne’s last SportsCenter appearance that he loves his coaches, his teammates, Green Bay and the fans. This included LaFleur but notably left out the front office, including Mark Murphy and Brian Gutekunst.
LaFleur is caught in the middle of this mess and with Packers OTAs underway, Rodgers was a no-show for Green Bay.
How this story comes to a conclusion for the Packers and Rodgers is anybody’s guess but, we now know that No. 12 has caused so many headaches for some coaches that it’s had them walking out the door themselves.
