San Diego Padres star shortstop Fernando Tatis Jr. has quickly become the face of the MLB. He signed a huge 14-year extension and was named as the cover athlete for MLB The Show. Now, Tatis Jr. will get his own feature on MLB Network, becoming the first to do so since Mike Trout.

MLB Network will debut “Tatis: The Rise of El Niño” on Wed, July 14 at 8pm ET.

Tatis has electrified the MLB and the Padres, who were stuck in mediocrity for way too long. Suddenly the Padres have been thrust into the thick of World Series contention after acquiring both Yu Darvish and Blake Snell in the offseason to add to their stacked roster.
Tatis, who came over from the Chicago White Sox in a trade when he was a teenager, has shattered expectations in just his third year in the MLB. Though Tatis has yet to play a full season, he has jumped out to a blistering start in the 2021 campaign as the Padres try and keep ground with the Los Angeles Dodgers and San Francisco Giants.
Tatis is tied for second in the majors in home runs and 11th in runs scored to lead the Padres while missing time earlier in the year with an injury.
He has been sensational, and the MLB Network feature should be fun to watch as Tatis continues to make highlight-reel plays.
