Donovan Mitchell joins Stephen Curry in Splash Brotherhood

Jazz, Donovan Mitchell, Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Warriors

No, Donovan Mitchell didn’t join Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and the Golden State Warriors. What the Utah Jazz star did, however, is make playoff history on par with the Splash Bros.

On Saturday in Game 3 against the Los Angeles Clippers, Mitchell became just the third player after Curry ad Thompson to record at  least five 3-pointers in four straight playoff games. He made five of his nine attempts from beyond the arc in the contest, though he could have scored more had it not been for the ankle injury he sustained mid-way through the fourth quarter.
In Game 5 against the Memphis Grizzlies, he also bagged five triples. The Jazz star guard then followed it up with six triples each in their first two matchups with the Clippers–both games saw Utah dominating and taking the W.

Donovan Mitchell has made 5 3-pointers in 4 straight playoff games.
The only other players to do that?
Klay Thompson and Stephen Curry.

Unfortunately for Donovan Mitchell, the Jazz suffered a 132-106 defeat at the hands of the Clippers on Saturday. While his presence late in the game would have made a difference, LA simply outclassed the Salt Lake City team with their hot shooting.
It remains to be seen if Mitchell can keep the streak alive and show that he is one of the better shooters in the NBA like Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson. However, that is the least of his and the Jazz’s worries after he re-aggravated his right ankle injury.
Mitchell has already clarified that he will be ready for Game 4, but it is pretty much certain the Jazz will be cautious of his injury.
