Shannon Singh is ‘gutted’ by that shock exit (Picture: ITV2)Love Island’s first eliminated contestant of 2021 Shannon Singh is understandably devastated by Chloe Burrows’ decision to couple up with Aaron Francis, leaving her dumped from the villa.
And to make matters worse, Chloe and Aaron have as much chemistry as an AJ and Curtis Pritchard Hollyoaks cameo, making her exit all the more meaningless.
Fans were naturally rattled, riled and raging by the outcome, but Shannon has now spoken out to say that while she is just as upset as we are to leave the show after 48 hours, she’s holding her head held high.
‘I am a bit gutted,’ she said. ‘Do you know what, out of all the girls, I think it is fair it’s me because I didn’t have any emotional attachments to the guys, but all the girls had tiny little things [going on].’
Thankfully, Shannon assured that while her ‘short-lived departure’ felt surreal, she’s just had a blast being there at all.
‘I knew they were going to throw something in there, they always do,’ she continued.
‘I knew it was going to be like she [Chloe] was going to take one of the guys. I just can’t believe I forgot there were dumpings.
‘I think all of us forgot there were dumpings. None of us really spoke about it.
‘When I read it out Liberty was almost crying, she was like, “What?” I did get a little bit emotional and then I eased up.’
However, some fans think Shannon may be hiding in a secret villa or will at least make a return further down the line.
More: Love Island
Former islander Amy Hart, who knows exactly what happens behind-the-scenes, shared her theory on Twitter, posting: ‘Shannon will get her phone back tomorrow…so if she’s not on her insta in the next few days she’s obvs in another villa.’
All eyes on Shannon’s Instagram for the next 24 hours then.
Love Island continues tonight at 9pm on ITV2.
