The 2021 College World Series was thrilling from start to finish. Vanderbilt was favored to take home the trophy, but Mississippi State came in and captured Game 3 of the series, en route to the school’s first-ever team championship in school history.

The Bulldogs topped Vanderbilt 9-0 in Game 3 and celebrated in epic fashion after the game after decades and decades of waiting for a title for their school.

After such a long wait, they deserve to celebrate in style. Will Bednar pitched an absolute gem for Mississippi State, going six innings without a hit– and doing so on three days rest. Landon Sims came in and tossed three shutout innings to finish off the game and start the celebration for the Bulldogs.
In turn, Bednar was named as the College World Series Most Outstanding Player, and deservedly so after a terrific performance in the clinching game.
The Bulldogs put up four runs in the seventh, capped off by a Kellum Clark three-run homer, and the Bulldogs could taste victory from that point on, igniting pure pandemonium in Omaha as the Hail State fans embark on a celebration of a lifetime.
Congratulations to Mississippi State and a valiant effort from Jack Leiter and the Commodores.
