Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors were sent crashing back to Earth after they hit a huge wall against the Washington Wizards. Curry and company brought their red-hot shooting to DC only to be extinguished by the stifling defense of the Wizards en route to a tough 118-114 loss.

The Warriors are now heading home after a five-game road trip which ended up being a huge disappointment according to Draymond Green (via Connor Letourneau of the San Francisco Chronicle).

Draymond Green: “I think it could’ve easily been a 5-0 trip. Tonight, definitely, we lost a game we should’ve won.”

Despite Curry’s almost immaculate shooting form this month, the Warriors were outgunned by the Wizards who have been on quite a run as of late. After putting himself in the record books game after game, Curry finally had an off-night and shot just 7-of-25 from the field, including 2-of-14 from the three-point area for a mediocre 18 points. Green, meanwhile, chipped in eight points, four rebounds, eight assists, and three steals.
For the past few seasons, the two-time MVP has been the ultimate barometer of the Warriors and his bad evening definitely impacted their four-point loss. It was only their second loss in seven outings though as they continue to climb back to postseason contention. But Green is not ready to relax yet.
“I think we’re getting better, but part of our getting better and part of being a good team is you have to win the games you’re supposed to win. We’re still not doing that.”

With just 13 games to go, Draymond Green, Stephen Curry, and the rest of the Warriors must lock in if they want to return to the NBA Playoffs.
