The Washington Wizards almost pulled off an impressive come-from-behind victory against the Dallas Mavericks on Saturday night but their opponents had other plans as they escaped with a 125-124 victory. After the game, Wizards star Bradley Beal was irritated because he knew that his team could have gotten the much-needed win if not for the costly errors that they committed in crunch time, via Fred Katz.

Bradley Beal: “We shouldn’t have lost the game. We should not have lost the game. We were down 18. Played really good, came back. Played really well the last couple minutes down the stretch. Just had some mishaps.”

Indeed, the Wizards were able to give themselves a good chance to win the game as they fought to overcome the huge lead built by the Mavericks in the first quarter. Despite their comeback bid, Dallas still got the better of a back-and-forth exchange between the two teams in the fourth quarter as they secured a 125-124 victory.
Mavericks star Luka Doncic starred for his team after producing 31 points, 12 rebounds, and a career-high 20 assists. On the other hand, Russell Westbrook also had a stellar outing headlined by his 42 points, 10 rebounds, and nine assists while Beal finished with 29 points of his own.
The loss was crucial for the Wizards as it halted their impressive run after they have already won 10 of their last 11 games. With eight contests left to play in the regular season, Beal and company still have work to do as they are currently settling with a 29-35 record for the 10th spot in the Eastern Conference.
Washington still has a chance to climb up the standings as they are closely trailing behind the ninth-seeded Indiana Pacers who are currently holding a 30-33 record. Hopefully, Bradley Beal’s disappointment in their most recent loss will ignite them as they seek to conclude the regular season on a strong note.
