Each member of the Boston Celtics‘ Big 3 from their 2008 championship will be complete in Springfield next year as Paul Pierce becomes part of the 2021 Hall of Fame class, per Gary Washburn of the Boston Globe.

Pierce spent 19 seasons in the NBA, playing in Beantown for 15 years. He was named Finals MVP in 2008 after the Celtics bested the Lakers in six games. He’s a 10-time All-Star and his jersey number hangs high up on the rafters of TD Garden alongside some of the greatest players to ever step on the court.
He made a name for himself due to his elite offensive talent with a knack for stepping up during big moments. While his heroics in 2008 speak volumes, Pierce’s most notable pre-Big 3 moment for the Celtics may very well be from the 2002 playoffs. The former Kansas Jayhawk outscored the New Jersey Nets in the fourth quarter, leading one of the biggest playoff comebacks ever.
After his playing career, Paul Pierce made countless viral moments on social media due to his hot takes—much to the ESPN engagement gods’ delight. He parted ways with the company after an infamous live feed on Instagram got out of hand.
During his Hall of Fame speech, Kevin Garnett tipped his hat to Pierce for the brotherhood throughout the years.

Kevin Garnett sent a message to Paul Pierce in his Hall of Fame speech ?
“Paul Pierce, I expect to see you up here next year! Thank you for the continued brotherhood!”

Paul Pierce’s long-term destination is still up in the air but his immediate future is more important for his legacy. That’s the truth.
