Apart from being one of the most adorable-looking games out there (taking cues from Studio Ghibli), Ni No Kuni 2 also follows up on the critically-acclaimed first game. While this sequel plays differently from the original, it’s widely regarded as a better game overall. It has a faster pace, and its political undertones will be much appreciated by adult gamers. Indeed, this game perfectly satisfies both JRPG players who are after the gameplay and those who are after the story.
This Switch re-release packs all of the goodness in one clean package. The game will, first of all, have a physical release for the collectors out there. Secondly, this version of the game comes with all DLCs. The first DLC, called The Lair of the Lost Lord, adds new combat options, as well as a 100-level dungeon perfect for RPG grinders. The second DLC, called The Tale of a Timeless Tome, introduces new dungeons that exist in the main character’s mind. The final DLC is The Adventure Pack, which contains new dungeons, new outfits, and items.
The game follows the story of Evan Pettywhisker Tildrum. In the real world, he’s the president of a country. After a tragedy, he gets transported to a fantasy world, becoming the Prince of Ding Dong Dell. However, a coup displaces the Prince from his Throne. The game takes you on an adventure as Evan retakes his crown from his political enemies.
