The Los Angeles Lakers went from being in the driver’s seat to losing home-court advantage in their pivotal Game 4 loss against the Phoenix Suns.
The Lakers had a hard time putting up points on the board, scoring just 92 total for the contest. To make matters worse, Anthony Davis exited mid-game and was unable to return. With this lack of offensive firepower, it’s surprising to see that Montrezl Harrell, one of LA’s most vital cogs during the regular season, practically glued to the bench.
The Lakers big man sent out a tweet in frustration, which may or may not be about his lack of playing time:

This could potentially just be about the loss in general, but it’s hard to imagine that Harrell isn’t feeling at least a bit slighted after being cut out from playing entirely.

He previously responded to a fan, who pointed out his lack of playing time. The Lakers sub answered back, flexing his paycheck despite logging minimal on-court work.

Last season’s sixth man of the year played in just five minutes for the Lakers during Game 4, a short run to start the fourth quarter where he didn’t even get to attempt a shot. They were his first minutes since playing a brief stint in Game 1.
Harrell has been the odd man out in Frank Vogel’s rotation this postseason, after averaging nearly 23 minutes during the regular season and ranking as their fourth leading scorer with 13.5 per game.
With Anthony Davis’ Game 5 status in jeopardy and the Lakers needing more scoring punch alongside LeBron James, might we possibly see more Montrezl Harrell in LA’s game plan?
