Philadelphia 76ers 12-year veteran Danny Green perfectly summed up how their season ended after a heartbreaking Game 7 loss against the Atlanta Hawks. The three-time NBA champion, who sat out the last four games for Philly due to a calf strain, had one single word to express how he felt after their 2020-2021 NBA season came to a halt on a grim Sunday evening.

Green posted just one word on social media after the 103-96 loss.

Disappointed

Green was hoping to add some valuable championship experience to this rather young Sixers squad who had high hopes this season. The 33-year-old was coming off two incredible championship runs with the Toronto Raptors and the Los Angeles Lakers to win his second and third NBA ring but his Finals streak ends with a tough second-round exit against a young, underrated Hawks unit.
The three-point specialist was a staple in head coach Doc Rivers’ starting line-up all season, including the playoffs. Though his numbers were quite underwhelming, Green brought a ton of intangibles to the table that helped the Sixers claim the top spot of the East coming into the post-season especially on the defensive end. Unfortunately, Green injured his calf in Game 3 and ultimately missed the entire series as he had to painfully watch his team get booted out by the fifth-seeded Hawks.
It’s going to be quite an interesting summer for the UNC alum as he officially enters free agency. Given that things didn’t pan out quite as how he expected them to in Philly, look for Green to seriously reconsider his future in the league after 12 incredible seasons.
