Ben Simmons continues to be on the receiving end of massive trolling after his performance in the Philadelphia 76ers’ Game 7 loss to the Atlanta Hawks. Aside from the rants of outraged fans, folks on Twitter also used the Markelle Fultz card to mock the Sixers playmaker.

For those who didn’t care to watch the game at all, Simmons finished with five points, eight rebounds and 13 assists in the do-or-die match. His low scoring output is also not due to the Hawks’ defense, but rather because of lack of tryin after he attempted just four shots.
His poor shooting was an issue throughout the series, and it certainly didn’t help that he did not even try to contribute. With that said, a lot of NBA fans took to Twitter to express their frustration and compare him to Fultz–the 2017 No.1 pick that Philly traded after his struggles with a shoulder injury.

Even the Orlando Magic, Markelle Fultz’s current team, joined the fun and seemingly threw a shade at Ben Simmons and the Sixers. Philly probably regretting that trade now?

Fultz was showing signs of life with the Magic before he suffered a torn ACL early in the 2020-21 season. However, he has done enough to make people say Orlando made the right move trading for him in exchange for Jonathon Simmons and a couple of picks.
As for Simmons, his struggles have been evident and it remains to be seen if Philly will trade him or remain patient as they try to bring his game to the next level.
Markelle probably won’t like the comparison, but hey, at least he has proven the Sixers wrong?
