New Tattoo Techniques

Tattoos are now a common thing. They no longer have the stigma of only being for criminals or bikers. We have tattooed people ranging from soccer moms to police officers. This is a personal decision and should be. You are permanently marking your body. The technology has not only kept up with the latest trends, but they are now acceptable in corporate environments. Every day, new tattoo styles, ideas, and techniques appear.

Way Better Ink

You may have come across an old tattoo which was probably black at first but is now green. Many ink companies use higher-grade ingredients to make their inks. These products last longer and cause less skin damage.

Glow in the Dark Tattoos

When we were kids, we would say, “Dude, I want a Tattoo that glows in the dark!” But they don’t actually glow in the dark. There is an ink that reacts with UV light. These tattoos, also known as Black Light Ink tattoos, are safe and free of phosphorous for the person getting the tattoo.

Tattoos That Disappear

Although we haven’t used it, disappearing Ink does exist. This ink will dissolve over time. There are pros and cons. You’re lucky if you don’t want to commit forever to a tattoo. There is no guarantee, however, that the tattoo will fade evenly. It may take several more years for it to disappear completely.

Healthy Tattoos

We have not personally used any ink. Certain manufacturers produce inks that are reactive to people with kidney disease, diabetes, and other health conditions that can affect healing. They should not be used for things like tracking blood sugar but may be useful to have.

Tattoo Designs: New Tattoo Ideas

You don’t have to stick with the old tattoos that are on the walls. There are many different styles and methods of application.

Watercolor Tattoos

Artists have mastered the art of making this design look more like a real watercolor. Colors from neons and pastels can now be used to transform a traditional piece into a stunning work of art.

Dot Work Tattoos

These tattoos, also known as stipplings, are created by using different amounts of dots. These tattoos can be created by adding dots one at a time or using the technique called whip shading.

Whip shading uses a smaller needle and a slower speed to add depth and dimension to your tattoo. This is an elegant look that works well in delicate pieces such as flowers.
