Goalkeeper Alisson

Goalkeeper Alisson and midfielder Fabinho will return to Liverpool in Thursday’s game against Chelsea for the English Premier League, coach Jürgen Klopp said on Wednesday. The return of the Brazilian duo coincides with the proximity of the first selection of the selection this year, for games of the South American Qualifiers of the World Cup of 2022.

Alisson returns to the team after being embezzled in the victory over lantern Sheffield United on Sunday. The player had been released from the game because of the unexpected death of his father, in Rio Grande do Sul. This Thursday, he will resume the post of goalkeeper of the current English champions.

Fabinho’s downtown was longer. The midfielder, who has been improvised as a defender this season, has not been on the pitch since his 4-1 defeat at Manchester City on 7 February due to a muscle injury. Thus, he lost the last four games of the team, by different competitions.

“Alisson trained all week and, yes, we hope he will be able to return. Fabinho has done five or six training sessions in a row. He is ready to return to the team, for sure,” said Klopp.

Another possible reinforcement for this farm is the attacking midfielder Diogo Jota. He has been absent since December due to a knee injury. “He suffered a small stomach problem. But he looks better now. Let’s see what we can do,” he said.

With difficulties in their squad, due to several injuries, Liverpool left the fight for the title and now focuses on confirming the place in the next edition of the Champions League.

As the English club tries to get back on its feet, coach Tite is preparing to announce the next squad for the Brazilian squad. Initially, the list of players should happen next Friday, but the CBF postponed the announcement, without setting a new date.

Following the World Cup Qualifiers, Brazil will face Colombia and Argentina on the 26th and 30th of this month.
