The corona incident involving Xaver Schlager, Maximilian Arnold, Maximilian Philipp, and Tim Siersleben had caused a lot of trouble – and rightly so. After all, society has to back off a lot; there are currently just rules that must be adhered to. That these were disregarded by the VfL quartet – in whatever form – is not okay; that is not possible.

But the four Wolfsburgers know exactly that themselves. Arnold subsequently tested positive for Corona. The other three players had to go into precautionary quarantine, and all four were therefore not allowed to play against Stuttgart, and Sandhausen should have been bitter enough for them. After all, footballers’ most important thing is to be on the pitch and support their team. Then there is the bad conscience. So it will have been a lesson to the quartet. And now: full focus on Dortmund!
