4 admission offers can be reviewed:

PETALING JAYA: Majlis Amanah Rakyat (Mara) has informed that the offer of admission to form 1 and 4 of the Mara Junior Science College (MRSM) session 2021 can now be reviewed in stages starting March 10, 2021.

Admission to MRSM this year takes into account two criteria, namely passing the Admission Tendency Test for Admission to MRSM (UKKM) or the Ulul Albab Special Test and the merit of the family’s Socio -Economic Status (SES).

Candidates who are successfully offered to MRSM will receive a notification via Short Message System (SMS) or email that has been registered during the application.

Applicants can also check through the official MARA portal at www.mara.gov.my. Applicants or parents need to confirm acceptance of the admission offer through the mymrsm system link in the MARA portal.

If the candidate does not confirm the acceptance of the offer within 7 days, the offer to the candidate is considered void.

Mara Chairman, Datuk Azizah Mohd. Dun said the appeal application to MRSM will be open on April 7, 2021 until May 30, 2021 online.

He said the applicant did not need to submit any application physically because the appeal process was carried out entirely online.

“MARA is still continuing the existing policy with 60 per cent of the recruitment being from the low -income group or B40. Priority is also given to rural students and the urban poor. ”

“To ensure that these B40 students can continue their studies at MRSM, Mara will continue the Budi Mara program. B40 students who study at MRSM do not have to worry because MARA provides assistance programs under the Budi Mara program. Selected students will be given assistance in the form of cash amounting to RM1,100 including school fees, purchase of school clothes, daily clothes, hostel necessities, school equipment and so on. Through this approach, it will provide greater opportunities for students from the B40 group to study at MRSM, ”he said.

This year, two new MRSMs will also start operating, namely MRSM ATM Bera, Pahang and MRSM Bagan Datuk, Perak which are expected to operate in early June 2021 to provide greater educational opportunities to the community.

This year, MRSM received 102,329 thousand applications for admission to Forms 1 and 4. The admission capacity of students to Form 1 was 7,783 students while for Form 4 it was 2,426 students. The existing MRSM students now number 28,087 students as of February 2021 in 53 MRSMs.

MRSM offers 6 programs namely MRSM International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE), MRSM International Baccalaureate-Middle Year Program (IB-MYP), MRSM Ulul Albab, MRSM Special Education Program (PKP), MRSM Premier and MRSM Technical under the Education System MRSM (SPMRSM). -UTUSAN ONLINE
